Fiji Rugby Union says it will award Test caps to players who appear in its centenary fixture against a Classic All Blacks team on June 12.

The Fiji Rugby Union revealed it will award full Test caps to players who appear in its centenary match against a Classic All Blacks team on June 12.

Fiji approached both Australia and New Zealand in the hope of securing a home Test against the All Blacks or Wallabies as the centerpiece of its centenary celebrations in Suva, Fiji's capital.

Both nations rejected Fiji's approach, saying their national teams were already committed to Test matches in June: New Zealand against France and Australia against the British and Irish Lions.

Instead, Fiji will face a Classic All Blacks XV, a team made up of former All Blacks test players including Joe Rokocoko and Sitiveni Sivivatu.
