Having James Marshall replace Beauden Barrett won't hurt the Hurricanes prospects, according to their coach Chris Boyd.
The Super Rugby leaders will be without All Blacks number ten Barrett for four weeks after he picked up an injury in Round 12.
Marshall has been drafted in as his replacement after multiple appearances off the bench and at full-back already for the side this season.
And Boyd didn't hesitate in giving the the 26-year-old Taranaki star plenty of praise ahead of facing the Sharks in Wellington on Saturday.
"Jimmy Marshall's an unbelievably talented footballer," Boyd told the NZ Herald.
"So I have every confidence he can play 10. He can play 15 for us and we could probably throw him in midfield if need be.
"His game management and organisation is up there."
TJ Perenara and Julian Savea have been rested for the weekend's game as the Hurricanes go for their 10th win of the year.
