New Zealand flanker Sam Cane expects Australia to bounce back this weekend following the heavy loss they suffered in Sydney last Saturday.

The back-row, who was part of the side that beat the Wallabies 42-8 in the Rugby Championship opener, was keen to keep a lid on their win.

"Any team that's wounded typically bounces back a lot stronger and I wouldn't expect anything less from the Aussies. They will come here with a real steely determination to prove a point to themselves and their media who have been a bit rough on them," he told the All Blacks website.

"The best thing we can do is prepare well and go out there and try and put in a good one again. They will be a lot better, we know that."

Another win on Saturday would see New Zealand keep their hands on the Bledisloe Cup for yet another year, something which is driving Cane.

"We are certainly not lacking motivation because if we get this one right we get to have a sip out of the Bledisloe and that is something pretty special. That's driving us pretty strongly," he said, with the flanker having made nine carries and 10 tackles over the weekend.
