Northampton midfielder Luther Burrell wants to honour Eddie Jones' faith in him, by giving it his best when England face Wales on Sunday at Twickenham.
The Saints player last played for England in their 25-20 World Cup warm up loss to France, an injury to Tigers' centre Manu Tuilagi has opened the door for Burrell to show the selectors exactly what he is capable of.
Jones names his team on Friday with Burrell in line for the starting centre berth.
Burrell told the England rugby website that he is excited to be part of the national team again and he is also relieved that all his good performances for his club were noticed by Jones.
““I am really excited about being part of this group again,” said the 28-year-old.
“It is a fresh start, a clean slate and if you’re playing well then Eddie Jones is the sort of bloke that is going to pick the best players – all I can do is look after that”
He added that he knows what is expected of him and he will do all the talking on the training field and put in the hard yards in order to make sure that he is in the form of his life when he takes to the field for England in the near future.
“Eddie is very good with the players, he is honest and if you’re not pulling your weight he will tell you.
“I am in the best condition I have been in. It is an exciting time for England Rugby and an exciting time for me.”
