Luther Burrell has returned to the England squad after recovering from a hand injury and could feature against Samoa on Saturday.

The Northampton Saints centre was recalled to a 28-man squad that will prepare for the game at Twickenham, but winger Semesa Rokoduguni misses out as he continues to struggle with a thigh problem.

The other players joining up with the squad are Richard Wigglesworth, James Haskell, Calum Clark and Billy Twelvetrees, while there are concerns over Kyle Eastmond who took a knock to the head against South Africa.

“We have narrowed the group to give us more focus in training,” said Stuart Lancaster.

“It’s good to have Luther back in camp after recovering from his hand injury and we’ll see how he gets on in training this week.

“Roko will stay with Bath as he returns to fitness. Kyle suffered a bang to the head at the end of the game and he will be undergoing the Graduated Return To Play protocol with us.

“As per the EPS agreement we will release players on Tuesday evening to prepare for the Aviva Premiership games at the weekend.”
