The Bulls coaching staff will have to make some tough calls when they select a side to play the Sunwolves in Pretoria on Saturday.
Bulls coach Nollis Marais finds himself in a predicament as his side remains plagued by injury. Roelof Smit and Lizo Gqoboka are the most recent players to be sidelined after Smit injured his eye and Gqoboka was crocked with a groin injury during the Bulls' game with the Jaguares in Buenos Aires last Saturday.
"It is injury after injury after injury," Marais told Times Media.
Bulls team doctor Herman Rossouw said that Smit should be fine to play for the Bulls next week, while they are still uncertain about Gqoboka.
"Roelof Smit gave us quite a scare. He sustained a laceration in the eye and had to undergo immediate surgery. Luckily the results were quite positive and he’ll only miss one week. He should be available to play next week again," Rossouw said.
"Lizo Gqoboka needed to leave the field with an injury to his groin. We are still waiting results of his MRI scan and a final decision is still to be made. It is unlikely that he will be available for this week’s fixture against the Sunwolves."
