Blue Bulls flanker Roelof Smit and midfielder William Small-Smith have been cleared for Friday's clash with the Free State Cheetahs in Pretoria.

Small-Smith has been cleared following concussion and Smit will return to the training field tomorrow, having recovered from a hip injury and will be available for Friday's match, Bulls team doctor Org Strauss said.

RG Snyman, Werner Kruger and Marvin Orie sat out training on Monday due to light niggles, but Dean Greyling will only know on Thursday whether his knee will hold up for the clash.

Nick de Jager, who made his debut against Griquas on the weekend, strained his ankle and will undergo a scan.

Deon Stegmann is two weeks away from action, as is Justin Forwood, who is recovering from a rib injury.

Duncan Matthews will also be back in two weeks after his knee operation.
