The Blue Bulls have confirmed that they have bolstered their midfield stocks by signing Kings' centre Waylon Murray on a two-year deal.

Murray could be included in the Blue Bulls' matchday 22 for Saturday's clash against Western Province in Cape Town.

He is now set to represent his fourth Super Rugby franchise after previously playing for the Sharks, Lions and Kings.

Murray's move was confirmed via a press statement from the Pretoria-based union after his agent first revealed the news earlier in the week.

“The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) would like to confirm that former Springbok midfielder Waylon Murray has joined them with immediate effect and has signed a contract with the BBC till 31 October 2015,” the statement said.

“Clearance has also been received from Murray's Super Rugby franchise, the Southern Kings and the 27-year-old player can be considered for selection ahead of Saturday's Currie Cup opener against Western Province in Cape Town.”

Confirming his immediate availability, BBC High Performance Manager Xander Janse van Rensburg added: “We have just received the clearance, so can now officially announce the signing.

“Waylon is a highly rated player with heaps of experience at especially Super Rugby and Currie Cup level.

“He will add experience to our back division as well as a cool head.”
