Cheetahs openside flanker Heinrich Brüssow looks set to miss the rest of the Super Rugby season after breaking his arm.
The forgotten Springbok fetcher was forced off the field in the 14th minute of the Saturday's 18-17 loss to the Reds, with coach Naka Drotske confirming the injury after the game.
More information on the severity of the injury is expected on Monday but it seems unlikely he will feature again in the Cheetahs Super Rugby campaign.
It wasn't a good weekend for the Free Staters, who have also lost full-back Coenie van Wyk for six weeks with an ankle injury.
The Cheetahs face the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
