Brive have announced the arrival of versatile Bayonne back Matthieu Ugalde on a two-year deal ahead of the new Top 14 season.
A product of the Bayonne academy, 23-year-old Ugalde, who can play both centre and fly-half, has signed until June 2017 after being released from his contract at Bayonne following the Basque club's relegation.
"Coming in Brive, I have no other ambition than to play as much as possible and give back to the club what they just offered me," he said.
CABCL head coach Nicolas Godignon said Brive were delighted by the young playmaker's arrival.
"Matthieu took a while to join our squad because the Basque saga delayed things a bit," said Godignon.
"He is a versatile player who was looking for a club that shared his values and had his heart set on signing for Brive.
"We are really happy to have him for the next two seasons."
