Clermont will be favourites for the Champions Cup final according to Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal.
In a repeat of the 2013 final, Clermont will take on Toulon, this time at Twickenham, with the latter aiming to become the first team to win three successive titles.
Only Toulouse before them had reached the final three years in a row but Toulon can go one better if they can match their 2013 success against les Jaunards, having reached the final with an extra-time success over Leinster.
Clermont have been impressive this season however, especially in their quarter-final win over Northampton, and Boudjellal believes they will be hungry to claim a first top-flight European title and deserve the favourites tag.
"The European Cup is your libido, but Clermont will have as much as us. It will be complicated because they have a lot of desire," said Boudjellal.
"The year they should have won, they lost against us and I still don't know how. It's been a long wait for them. But for us, the third star isn't there yet, for now it's a star in the snow, and it's closer to Clermont.
"Today they are favourites. I don't know how we will survive their rage. As for me, I'm like a little kid, I'm living this in wonderful way. I'm not an actor, I'm just trying to remember as much as possible for when I'm old."
The win capped off a productive weekend for Toulon, with Quade Cooper watching in the stands in Marseille as they beat Leinster and reportedly close to signing a deal with the club.
However Boudjellal expressed some frustration at comments about the club being full of mercenaries and not a French club.
"Some think Toulon isn't a French club. I've been told things that are said in the stands," he added.
"Scandalous things coming from people with status. If one day I have responsibilities on a national scale, I'll even defend those I don't like. Even more than those I like. When we have responsibilities, we should take them but some people never do.
"But I don't want to finish on that note, it was a good weekend for RCT, for this result and other reasons."
