Bosch stars in Sharks win

The Sharks earned a hard-fought 18-5 win over the Blue Bulls in rainy conditions at Kings Park Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

Sharks fly-half Curwin Bosch was the star of the show as he created Nkosi’s try and slotted a monstrous, match winning drop-goal late in the second half.

The home side scored the game’s first try after two minutes when a perfectly weighted Curwin Bosch cross-kick to the left was gathered by newly Bok-selected winger Sibusiso Nkosi who went in for his eighth try of the Currie Cup season.

The Sharks scored their second in the 17th minute when scrum-half Michael Classens sent a long ball wide right to Keegan Daniel, who snuck over for a converted try. The Sharks led 12-0 at half-time.

Ten minutes into the second, Blue Bulls lock Ashton Fortuin grabbed a loose ball from a five meter scrum to dive over for a try. Bosch landed a penalty minutes later to extend the Sharks’ lead to ten points.

In the 72nd minute, Bosch landed a sensational drop-goal from almost 50 meters out, making it necessary for the Blue Bulls to score two tries to win the match.

As it turned out the Sharks ran out comfortable winners while the Blue Bulls were unable to secure a losing bonus point.
