Saracens are not bothered by criticism of their style of play and are, instead, focused on defending their Premiership title.
That was the word from Sarries full-back Alex Goode in response to Wasps director of rugby Dai Young who said: “You have to give them credit, but it’s a boring way to play.”
Young’s comments were made after Sarries claimed a 26-16 victory against Wasps on Sunday.
But Goode said although it’s disappointing to be criticised it’s not a concern to Sarries.
“We have always had an attitude of worrying what’s inside the bubble,” he told Sporting Life.
“From all accounts, what’s said about us has gone a full circle, going from being a bit negative to getting behind us and then going back to being negative again.
“It is a bit disappointing when a coach says that but it does not bother us as a group.
“We are not worried about what people say. We are top of the try-scoring stats, so it makes no difference to us.
“The fact Wasps felt they had to come up with a different game-plan to play against us speaks volumes about how well we are doing.”
