Bordeaux pulled off one of the upsets of the Top 14 season after beating Toulouse 18-17 at the Stade Chaban-Delmas on Friday.

The defending champions were down to fourteen men in the sixth minute of the match when centre Yann David was yellow-carded, however pivot Lionel Beauxis still managed to give Toulouse an early lead.

The France fly-half added another two more penalties, but opposite number Camille Lopez slotted four three-pointers of his own in the first half to put the hosts 12-9 up at the break.

Beauxis drew the scores level in the second half, but Lopez was equally up to the task and booted two more penalties to keep Bordeaux in front.

Toulouse wing Yves Donguy scored a try from close range with five minutes remaining, but the potential match-winning conversion from Beauxis went wide and Bordeaux clung on for their ninth win of the season and condemn Toulouse to their second defeat in three matches.
