The Brumbies kicked off their Super Rugby campaign in ideal fashion as they ran six unanswered tries past Australian rivals the Reds to win 47-3 in Canberra on Friday.
The result represents a record winning margin for the Brumbies over the 2011 champions and extends their winning run on home soil to nine straight games.
It was a dismal night for the Reds, who were force to make a massive amount of tackles against a slick Brumbies team that totally ruled the possession and territory stats.
Former Wallabies skipper James Horwill was sent off as a result of two yellow cards for his repeated infringements as the visitors tried to stem the tide.
Wallaby hopeful Karmichael Hunt was also given a brutal Super Rugby initiation as he failed to make an impression on the game beyond his solitary penalty for the visitors, although it would be harsh to judge the former League star on game in which he had very few opportunities to shine.
The Brumbies impressed with their ability to retain the ball and, behind a dominant pack, half-backs Matt Toomua and Nic White controlled the game wonderfully.
The Brumbies led 21-3 at the interval thanks to an early try from full-back Robbie Coleman and another just before the break from wing Joe Tomane. Christian Lealiifano added three penalties as the Reds bled penalties at the breakdown.
The second half followed a similar pattern as the Brumbies pack continued to dominate, setting up the platform for Toomua and White to score a try apiece and secure the bonus point before the hour mark.
But they didn't stop there, as centre Tevita Kuridrani and debutant James Dargaville crossed in the final quarter to rub salt in the Reds wounds.
