Cardiff Blues will be without fly-half or full-back Rhys Patchell for an enforced spell after the international suffered a hamstring injury.

The Wales youngster sustained a strain injury during the Pro12 defeat against Munster at Arms Park on November 1.

“Patchell visited a specialist in London at the start of this week for a full review and will now commence a period of rehabilitation,” the Blues said in a statement on Monday, with the loss of Patchell cushioned slightly by the recent arrival of Gareth Anscombe from New Zealand.

Wales will therefore be without Patchell and regular start Dan Biggar for this weekend’s match with Fiji.
