Cardiff Blues finished off their season in style with a convincing 24-5 win over Zebre in Cardiff.
Zebre opened the game well but quickly fell prey to a hungry Cardiff outfit.
Alex Cuthbert scored the first points of the match with a try on 29 minutes, as Gethin Jenkins also found his way onto the score sheet five minutes from the interval to give the Blues a 12-0 lead at half-time.
The home side picked up where they left off in the second half Cuthbert got his second of the afternoon and Rhys Patchell got the fourth for Cardiff to earn the home side a bonus point.
Valerio Bernabo managed to steal a try for Zebre but Cardiff got the last laugh through Garyn Smith on 80 minutes to seal a 29-5 win.
Cardiff were guaranteed a tenth place finish after last week's loss to Scarlets but were looking to go out with a bang in their last game of the season.
After half an hour of tug of war Cardiff broke the deadlock. A sweeping move from the backs ended up in Summerhill switching play to Cuthbert who crossed over in the corner for the first try of the match but Patchell couldn't add the extras.
Four minutes later Marco Bortolami saw yellow and the Blues capitalised on the extra man, scoring the second try of the match when Jenkins peeled off the back of a driving lineout.
This time Patchell made no mistake dissecting the posts to make it 12-0 at half-time.
Cuthbert opened the scoring for the second half, bouncing off his opposite number on the wing to increase the lead to 17-0.
Anscombe broke through the Zebre line and offloaded to Patchell who greatfully finished off the move and slotted the conversion earning the Blues a bonus point and a 24-0 lead.
Zebre nabbed their first try ten minutes from time through Bernabo but it proved to be too little too late.
Smith got the last try of the afternoon for the Welsh side on 80 minutes, wrapping up the Blues troubled season with a 29-5 win.
