Benjamin gets green light to face Sharks

Free State Cheetahs centre Rayno Benjamin is free to play despite appearing before a SARU Judicial Hearing after receiving three yellow cards.

According to the SARU Regulations, a player must appear before a judicial hearing after receiving two yellow cards in one match or three overall in a competition.

Benjamin was ordered to appear before a SARU judicial hearing following his two yellow cards over the weekend against the Pumas in Nelspruit. He was shown a yellow card for a dangerous tackle and then another for a team offence, resulting in a red card. He also received a yellow card earlier in the competition against Western Province.

His hearing was held late on Monday via teleconference before Duty Judicial Officer advocate Rob Stelzner, who decided to impose no further sanction on the player.

Benjamin is therefore available for selection for the Cheetahs' home fixture on Saturday against the Sharks in Bloemfontein.
