Wasps centre Kurtley Beale revealed his delight after impressing on his debut for the club in the victory over Connacht on Sunday.

The Premiership outfit won 32-17 against the PRO12 champions in a crucial Pool 2 fixture of the Champions Cup at the Ricoh Arena.

Beale was instrumental in the triumph as he scored one and set up another for Josh Bassett that secured all five points for the hosts.

"That game had a bit of everything! It's great to be out there with the lads, it's been a long time coming after seven months out with injury. But it's great to get the win, Connacht are a great team and it's a special win for us," Wallaby Beale told EPC Rugby following the win.

Wasps will travel to the Sportsground next week to tackle Connacht again and Beale is looking to back up this performance in Round 4.

"It was a big attitude test for us, we know Connacht like to throw the ball around with width, we had to stick to our shape and we did that so full credit to the boys. All the talent is here, we need to raise the standard week in, week out. We have to stick to it and not take our foot off the pedal," he added after an impressive first game in black.

"What a special place to go over to Galway, we will rest and recover now and be all set for next week."
