Bayonne have completed the signing of utility back Adam Whitelock, who will link up with the Top 14 side from the Crusaders at the end of October.

The 27-year-old centre or winger has put pen to paper on a two-year contract, with the option of extending it for another year with the club.

Whitelock, who played twice for the New Zealand Sevens side, will stay with Canterbury until after the final of this year’s ITM Cup on October 24.

He is the third player to join Bayonne, who are presently eighth in the table, in the past few weeks, as Argentina back-row forward Benjamin Macome arrived as a replacement for the injured Pierre Gayraud, and young Australian centre Lalakai Foketi is their other recent acquisition.
