Bath Rugby Academy have confirmed the signing of Wigan Warriors Under 19 centre, Liam Forsyth.

The young three-quarter represented Wigan during an 18-month stint, producing solid performances, which caught the attention of Bath head coach Mike Ford.

Forsyth will join fly-half Adam Hastings and full-back Darren Atkins at the senior academy, and Ford believes that this will be a stepping stone to further his professional career.

“Liam is a very skilful player, but he’s also a physically gifted young lad," said Ford.

“He’s played a season of rugby union before, so it won’t be too much of a learning curve for him. He’s joining a group of very talented young English players here at the Club. Watching them develop together here is very exciting.”
