Bath outside centre Jonathan Joseph has committed his future to the club, renewing his contract in the West Country for two more seasons.
One of the form players of the Aviva Premiership, Joseph has scored seven tries in 15 games in the opening stages of the 2014/15 campaign.
The quick-footed centre has thrived in the attack-minded Bath backs, forming an elusive, dynamic partnership with England’s Kyle Eastmond.
His piercing runs, impactful breaks and strong defence have been noticed just as much as his nose for the try-line, with the 23-year-old earning a call-up to Stuart Lancaster’s England squad as injury cover ahead of 2014’s November Tests.
“I feel I’ve really developed as a player since I’ve been here at Bath,” said Joseph.
“With the help of the great coaches here I’ve added more elements to my skillset, so I definitely wanted to stay here.”
Head coach Mike Ford added: “JJ is an incredibly talented young player, who is on the brink of breaking into the England squad, and deservedly so. He has been on fantastic form for us, providing a real threat in our back line and his defence is international class too. He’s matured as a player over the last year or so, and we’re delighted he’s staying with us.”
