Bath extension for Eastmond

Bath have confirmed that England international centre Kyle Eastmond has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Premiership club.

Eastmond, 26, is widely regarded as one of the most exciting playmakers in the European game. As part of an impressive Bath backline, he says the choice to stay at the club was ultimately an easy one to make.

“I feel like we’ve started a really exciting time at Bath,” said Eastmond, who joined the Rec side from rugby league team St Helens in 2011.

“I don’t think there are many rugby clubs with such a positive training and playing environment that’s focused on making us the best players we can be, which makes this the ideal place for me to be playing.”

Head coach Mike Ford added: “Kyle is a big part of our drive for success here at Bath Rugby, so I’m very happy he’s committed himself to the club.

“He’s part of a young backline here that’s already achieved some great things, but there is a lot more to come from them.”
