Bath end Faosiliva’s contract

Bath back-row Alafoti Faosiliva has left the Premiership side after the club moved to end the 30-year-old’s contract.

Faosiliva, who has represented Samoa in 15 Tests, knocked out a student in Bath city centre with a single punch in an incident back in February and escaped a prison sentence after pleading guilty to assault.

He was given a suspended sentence last week and Bath revealed via a statement that they have terminated his contract.

“Bath Rugby can confirm that Alafoti Faosiliva has been released from his contract with Bath Rugby with immediate effect, following his recent guilty plea for assault and consequent suspended custodial sentence,” read the statement on the club’s official website.
