Worcester Warriors lock Darren Barry has extended his contract with the Premiership team after impressing in his first season since joining the side from the Cornish Pirates in 2015.
Barry told the Warriors’ official website that he was excited for what the future holds at Sixways and he believes that the correct structures are in place for the team to realise their potential and take their game to the next level.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first season at Sixways and I truly believe we are a club heading on the up,” he said.
“We’ve got everything in place to succeed as professional rugby players and I’m looking forward to being part of our new-look side for next season.”
Director of Rugby Dean Ryan added that Barry has been a consistent performer this season and they are pleased to have him with the team for next season.
Ryan said: “He was an outstanding performer for the Pirates in the Championship but he has been able to transfer that talent and has proven he can make the step-up to the top-flight of English rugby.
“We’ve been really impressed with his work at the set-piece and in the loose and we hope we can continue to help develop him as a Premiership player over the coming seasons.”
