La Rochelle have pulled off a major coup after captain Uini Atonio signed a new deal with the club through to 2017.
The French international tighthead had been heavily linked to a number of top sides in the Top 14, including Clermont, Toulon and Toulouse.
However the 25-year-old, who made his international debut in November, and featured again during the Six Nations, has chosen to stick with La Rochelle for two more seasons.
Les Rochelais have been one of the surprise packages in the Top 14 this season, and a recent run of five games unbeaten have taken them to the brink of safety despite being favourites to go down at the start of the season.
At international level they have had almost unprecedented recognition with both Atonio and number eight Loann Goujon playing a part in France's Six Nations campaign, and while the latter will join Bordeaux-Bègles at the end of the season, Atonio is staying put.
