Chiefs full-back Gareth Anscombe has been ruled out of action for six weeks after breaking a bone in his foot.
Anscombe was due to wear the number ten jersey for the Chiefs in their clash with the Force on Friday but instead arrived at the ECOLight Stadium with crutches.
The 21-year-old fractured a bone near the big toe of his right foot during training on Thursday. While he will spend six weeks out of action, Anscombe may only miss three matches as the Chiefs have a bye before the competition breaks for internationals.
Aaron Cruden, who was due to start from the bench, was promoted to the starting line-up in Anscombe's absence.
