The Blue Bulls were dealt another injury setback ahead of Saturday's Currie Cup Final against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
Blue Bulls team doctor Herman Rossouw revealed on Monday that utility back Ulrich Beyers has been ruled out of the final after he dislocated his shoulder in last weekend's semi-final win over Western Province in Pretoria.
Beyers is the second casualty from that match and joins lock RG Snyman on the sidelines. Snyman will miss the final due to concussion and a facial bone fracture.
Snyman’s injury is not as bad as initially feared though.
"He was consulted by a specialist and will have a minor procedure," said Rossouw.
"His recovery will be much sooner than initially expected.".
Rossouw confirmed that Springbok scrum-half Piet van Zyl will be available to play in the final after recovering from concussion.
