The Ulster medical team has issued an injury update ahead of their clash with the Barbarians on June 1.

Charles Piutau underwent routine ankle surgery yesterday and he is expected to return to training in approximately eight weeks.

In addition, Wiehahn Herbst (knee) and Stuart Olding (ankle) had successful surgery on their respective injuries and both are expected to be fit for start of next season.

Piutau was named PRO12 Players' Player of the Year earlier this month, after a successful first campaign with Ulster since arriving from Wasps.
