New Zealand suffered a double blow when captain Richie McCaw and wing Cory Jane were ruled out of Saturday's Test with Australia in Dunedin due to
injuries sustained during training.
McCaw has been ruled out with a calf strain, but it is believed that the injury is not related to his recently recovered knee ligament complaint, which saw him return to play South Africa at Ellis Park.
Jane, who was to play his 44th Test and first of 2013, is out with a hamstring strain.
In McCaw's absence Sam Cane will wear the number seven jersey against the Wallabies while number eight Kieran Read will captain the All Blacks.
Jane, who has been rushed back after only two appearances for Wellington in the ITM Cup, has been replaced by Charles Piutau while Steven Luatua take's Cane's place on the replacements bench.
