Argentina captain Agustin Creevy believes his side must play the best game of their careers to beat the All Blacks in their Rugby Championship opener in Christchurch on Friday.

Creevy knows his side are massive underdogs against an All Blacks team which he feels has "no weakness".

The 30-year-old hooker admitted that even though los Pumas beat the Wallabies and suffered two narrow defeats to the Springboks last year, they had "never felt like we were close to winning a game" against the All Blacks.

"But we know that we are getting closer to them and we are learning about playing against them and, one time, the possibility of winning, will come," Creevy told Fairfax Media.

He said he relishes the opportunity of facing his boyhood idol Keven Mealamu on Friday.

"When I was young, every time I saw him, [I thought he was] a star," added Creevy.

"I'm really happy playing against him. He's a very good person, a good guy and a really good player."
