Ready for the Lions: Ben Youngs

With the thrill of winning the Premiership fresh in his mind, Ben Youngs admits he's immediately moved on with a new challenge looming.

As a member of the British and Irish Lions squad, Youngs will fly to Hong Kong on Monday, just two days after helping Leicester beat Northampton 37-17 in the Aviva Premiership final.

Youngs concedes that it has been hard not to think of the upcoming tour to Australia since the squad was announced earlier in the month, but that now he can fully embrace the experience.

"It has been strange," he explained. "Not trying to think about the Lions has been very hard. But we have all come through injury-free, and we can now just crack on and really embrace it. The main goal for a lot of us is just to come back as better players.

"The feeling is one of real excitement. I can stop trying to ignore it now."

The 23-year-old is confident that the Lions have what it takes to go one better than the class of 2001 and beat Australia in the three-Test series.

"I am looking forward to playing with some of the world's best," he said.

"Australia are a world-class team, and they will make it as hard as they can for us, but we will blend together as quickly as we can. We've got tremendous coaches and players, and I am sure we have got a great chance down there."
