The Bath player has made steady progress through the system with England, representing his country at U16 ad U18 level, and has really come on after securing a starting birth at the Recreation Ground.
Considered a good scrummager with excellent skills in the loose, Mears is likely to be challenging Irishman Jerry Flannery for one of the few starting places still up for grabs.
