Exciting Ireland full-back Rob Kearney is preparing to appear in his debut Lions tour this summer.
Exciting Ireland full-back Kearney is another versatile Lion preparing for his debut tour this summer.
The 23-year-old, who plies his trade with Leinster, has made just 15 Test starts for the Emerald Isle but has done enough in that time to persuade coach Ian McGeechan that he is worth a place on the place to South Africa.
His fine form at XV throughout 2009 helped propel Ireland to their first Grand Slam since 1948 and also saw Leinster reach the last four of the Heineken Cup.
Equally as capable on the wing, Kearney could also step-up to assist with place-kick duties should injuries permit. His main qualities are his ability under the high ball and fearless bravery, and both will undoubtedly be tested this summer.
