Wallabies flanker David Pocock looks likely to be ruled out of the Test series against the British and Irish Lions later this year due to a serious knee injury.
The Brumbies openside was forced off the field during Saturday's Super Rugby derby with the Waratahs with a suspected anterior cruciate ligament injury to his knee.
Scans will reveal more details but the initial diagnosis is not good. The standard recovery time for similar ACL injuries is six months.
Pocock was replaced by former Wallabies and Brumbies stalwart George Smith, who made his first Super Rugby appearance since leaving Canberra in 2010.
