Ireland centre Brian O'Driscoll will captain the British and Irish Lions in Wednesday's clash against Western Force in Perth.
The 34-year-old was captain of the 2005 Lions in New Zealand but his tour was cut short due to injury.
O'Driscoll takes over from Ireland team-mate Paul O'Connell, who led the Lions to a convincing 59-8 victory over the Barbarians in their tour opener in Hong Kong last weekend.
He stands in for tour skipper Sam Warburton, who is likely to play his first match of the tour against Reds next Saturday.
O'Driscoll leads a side featuring seven of his Ireland team-mates.
They are: hooker Rory Best, fly-half Johnny Sexton, right wing Tommy Bowe, loosehead prop Cian Healy, flanker Sean O'Brien, scrum-half Conor Murray and number eight Jamie Heaslip.
Another Ireland regular, full-back Rob Kearney was the only player not considered due to injury.
England's Manu Tuilagi will partner O'Driscoll in the midfield.
"The tour feels like it has truly begun now we have landed on Australian soil," O'Driscoll told reporters in Perth.
The line-up does not include any players that started against the Barbarians.
