British and Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland has revealed that selected players will only find out when the 2013 squad is released to the public.
36 players are set to be announced by Gatland on Tuesday, April 30 ahead of the eagerly-anticipated trip to face the Wallabies in the three-Test series.
And the former Wasps and current Wales boss has bucked a trend by saying that chosen men will discover their fate with the rest of the world.
"They [the players] are going to find out with the rest of the rugby world," Gatland revealed.
"In the past we have texted players and there has been a bit of a leak out and people have known but no-one is going to know [this time]."
Gatland also said that he would enjoy coaching sessions with some players in Wales and Ireland ahead of the tour but due to play-offs he would unfortunately not have everyone involved.
"We've got a few squads coming together," he explained.
"We have three or four days with Wales and then three or four days in Ireland as well with what will be about half the squad without those involved in semi-finals and finals so I will be able to get my hands dirty again."
