I agree with the predictability but more importantly look at how often he loses the ball in contact through poor technique. He also has very poor body position going into rucks where he falls down rather than driving up which isn't clearing away the SA players who are exceptional at getting over the ball.

So potentially a great player but until he gets some fundamentals right, he isn't going to make the cut against SA where winning the breakdown is critical.

I call him Predictable Powell. Always with the ball to his right side, in one hand, never in two, charging straight ahead into a tackler who has already read his move. No imagination. Contrast him with Martyn Williams or Wallace or Heaslipp and you see why he is out of his league in this company.
