Oh dear, there were some great comments/observations from the pair of you until you 'tied' Matfield and O'Connell. I ask with sound objectivity; where was O'Connell in the 1st test?? I think he was arguing with the ref, about scrum technicalities even his forwards coach could not argue with. Hmmm. Then the 2nd Test. Simon Shaw was heroic, where was O'Connell?? No match defining moments I can think of. Matfield on the other hand did what he does best and when it counts. He stole line out balls, he scored a try, he harassed the Lions in to mistakes - he reaffirmed himself as the world's best. And he did it without words.

It's also evident O'Connell has not been the captain they'd hoped for. O'Driscoll even showed him up a bit - with body on the line tackles on big men twice his size. I don't think Paul O'Connell will look back on this tour as a personal success - yet Matfield will see it as another notch in his already impressive list of achievements - which dwarf that of O'Connell.

Thus I ask,...please don't 'tie' Matfield with O'Connell - it's a bit embarressing.

Why do you guy continue to call the Beast "the Zimbabwean"? He has full South African citizenship and is fully qualified to represent SA. Would it hurt to refer to him as the beast, the south african, the cult hero the promising loose head? Come on guys.

DM is right on when he questions why Kearney was not named man of the match on Saturday in preference to Shaw. I have my own reasons on this one. Care to guess?

On the other hand a Springbok fan would more likely say that Morne Steyn or Fourie deserved that honor.
