Raring to go: Digby Ioane

Wallabies wing Digby Ioane has revealed that he has overcome a knee injury and is ready to take on the British and Irish Lions on Saturday.

Ioane participated in full training sessions on Friday and Monday and reported on Tuesday that, "It's feeling good. I'll be ready for this weekend."

The 27-year-old Reds flyer had minor surgery to clean up cartilage in his left knee last month and had been in doubt for the first Test in Brisbane, but said "Now I'm right to go. All I have to do is just get picked."

Australia coach Robbie Deans is set to announce his 23-man squad for the first test on Thursday, hours after the Lions line-up is revealed.

The Lions have won five of their six warm-up matches on tour so far.

Ioane also expressed his admiration for giant Welsh wing George North, stating that he was ready for the challenge.

"I enjoy playing any wingers, size doesn't matter. Someone like Shane Williams....he's a short blazer, a gun," he said.

"I love challenging myself against the best and George North is one of them. He's played some great rugby.

"They're bringing their best wingers from the UK and Ireland and we're bringing our best from Australia. I'm looking forward to it.

"North is one of those guys who can beat defenders one on one.

"They're world class wingers. I'm looking forward to the challenge. The Lions are in top form and it's a big game for us."
