British and Irish Lions centre Brian O'Driscoll was pleased to rekindle his centre partnership with Jamie Roberts on Tuesday.

Roberts and O'Driscoll combined in midfield during the 64-0 victory over a Combined Country XV, with O'Driscoll captaining the side in the absence of tour captain Sam Warburton.

Now on his fourth Lions tour, O'Driscoll stated that it was good to continue working with Roberts, after the pair clicked effectively four years ago in South Africa.

The Lions ran in ten tries in Newcastle but O'Driscoll admitted that their performance was far from perfect.

"There were some really good things. We read off one another relatively well and it was nice to pick up where we left off four years ago," said O'Driscoll.

"We definitely left a couple of plays out there. He threw one great ball to me that I knocked on in the second half that I should have gotten away.

"But there was good intuition there and hopefully we might get another opportunity at some stage to play with one another on the tour.

"We probably got a little bit flat depth-wise.

"The accuracy of some of the passing as a result meant balls were thrown behind players when a little bit of depth might have made things easier. So I think that's one easy fix."
