Western Province have suffered another injury blow with the news that outside centre Dylan des Fountain will undergo surgery on a foot problem.

Des Fountain, who is to have the surgery on Monday, tore the ligament and capsule supporting the side of the first toe of his right foot as well as one of the muscles during a Currie Cup match against the Lions two weeks ago.

And he has been advised by a foot and ankle specialist to have the ligament and capsule repaired in order to become functional again, which will keep him sidelined for up to ten weeks.

Shaun Edwards hands out the orders as Wales warm-up at the Millennium Stadium. A sickening clash of heads in the opening minute sees both Stirling Mortlock and Jamie Roberts hurt. Mortlock is taken from the field immediately, whilst Roberts plays on for 15 minutes with a fractured skull.
