Flying the Fijian flag: Luveniyali joins Harlequins

Harlequins have strengthened their backs considerably with the sizeable coup of Fiji's international star Waisea Luveniyali.

The highly-regarded playmaker, who celebrated his 23rd birthday just six days ago, joins fellow new signings Nick Evans and Gonzalo Tiesi at the Guinness Premiership club.

Luveniyali can play at fly-half, full-back and outside centre, with the latter expected to be his position during the forthcoming season.

Utility-back Luveniyali was Fiji's youngest player at the recent Rugby World Cup in France after starting for injured veteran Nicky Little in their quarter-final loss against eventual winners South Africa.
