Bulls fly-half Derick Hougaard is a major doubt for the champions' final Super 14 match of the season against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Friday.
According to the Bulls' official website, Team Doctor Tommie Smook is still concerned about the abscess in Hougaard's gluteus muscle that turned septic after the Waratahs clash a fortnight ago.
The injury, which left the Springbok sidelined for the 28-17 win over the Brumbies last weekend, means that Morné Steyn should continue in the ten jersey following strong displays of late.
Smook is also concerned about the fitness of flank Wikus van Heerden (knee), but is confident that Bakkies Botha, Zane Kirchner, JP Nel and Deon Stegmann will make the squad.
