Chiefs prop Ben May has been suspended for three weeks following his red card against the Lions on Saturday.

May was sent off during his side's 33-27 defeat against the Lions for stamping and was banned by the SANZAR judiciary committee on Monday.

The ban means May will miss the Chiefs' last throw of the dice to make the semi-finals. They travel to Durban to take on the Sharks in a game both sides need maximum points from.

The Chiefs are also sweating over the fitness of Sitiveni Sivivatu, Stephen Donald, Sione Lauaki and Tom Willis.

Sivivatu and Donald are of particular concern after incurring injuries in the Lions game and have had x-rays on ankle and neck injuries respectively.

Tom Willis was unable to take the field because of a side strain.

The extent of the injuries are expected to be known on Monday.
