New Heating Legislation
The changes to the Building Regulations, Part L, which occurred in April 2005
made major changes to the installation of gas boilers in domestic properties.
You are now required to have a minimum SEDBUK
(Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the UK) rating of 86%. This simply
means our Boilers which are 91% efficient- give 91 pence of heat for every £1
of gas. This explains
it further
Home Information Packs
We fully comply with Part L by notifying the local councils Buildings department
of every installation that we complete. This means that our installations come with a compliance certificate that can be included in the coming
Home
Information Packs. This certificate lets people buying houses after 1st
July 2007 know that your boiler has been fitted by a CORGI registered company.
Which Boiler?
We believe that when specifying
boilers we must take into account the efficiency, cost, reliability, replacement
parts cost and manufacturers after sales service. The cheap boilers in large
retail outlets may not seem such a bargain when parts often required just out of
guarantee cost an arm and a leg!
Intelligent Technology
A comprehensive boiler display system showing status and diagnostic information along with a component
layout designed for unrestricted access and rapid removal means that commissioning and subsequent
servicing are all simplified. Boilers have now come of age and are designed to
work faster, more efficiently and inteligently.
Consider Controls carefully
We also believe that the equipment that controls the boiler must suit the
customer. We offer easy to set time clocks that are built in to the boiler
but we also offer programmable thermostats that can offer different time
settings for work days and weekends. These can usually be fitted without
wires or disruption to decorations and floors.
Radiators
Many properties in Saddleworth are situated in exposed locations and
need heating emitters sizing very carefully. We take into account the number of
outside walls and size of windows to make sure that the heat that is lost is quickly
replaced. Our Radiators are sleek and ergonomic and usually have top and side
panels fitted as standard.
Thermostatic Radiator Valves
These valves are fitted to enable control of the Radiators temperature and
to save energy by shutting down when the sensor is satisfied. A Living room may
need a design temperature of 21° C but a Bedroom only
needs 18 ° C and these valves enable much greater comfort
conditions than ordinary radiator valves. The new Building Regulations state
that Radiator thermostats should be used on all radiators except where the room
thermostat is fitted.
