Lawrence Dallaglio: Cited in Cardiff clash

London Wasps number-eight Lawrence Dallaglio has been cited for allegedly striking an opponent in the EDF Energy Cup semi-final against Leicester Tigers.

The incident, a breach of Law 10.4(a), will see the World Cup winner appear at a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing on Tuesday April 1, following the report initiated by the independent citing officer.

The case will be heard by a disciplinary panel chaired by His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn.

Elsewhere, Scarlets prop Deacon Manu has been cited for a tackle that may result in a shoulder operation for Cardiff Blues flanker Robin Sowden-Taylor.

The Blues say a scan is needed on the injury following an inconclusive X-ray on the Welsh international, who could become a doubt for the summer tour to South Africa.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury in a collision with Manu at Stradey Park in a Magners League clash on Friday night.

A Welsh Rugby Union disciplinary committee will decide the Scarlet's fate on Wednesday.
